Joey Basmaji

Founder of JACOB, Joey Basmaji created one of Canada's most recognizable women's fashion brands and dressed several generations of women. Throughout his career, he mentored entrepreneurs and served on the board of several non-profit organizations. Through the Odette and Joey Basmaji Foundation, he gave back to those in need, especially to causes supporting women, children, cancer and heart disease.

Joey was a great lover of contemporary art. He collected over 100 works by Canadian artists during his life, which adorned his homes, cottages, and offices. His family is ready to part with this collection and wish for it to find a new home among their friends and business contacts, giving it a second life.

The family will donate 25% of the sales from these artworks to Hope & Cope, a non-profit organization that supports people affected by cancer, founded by Joey’s dear friend, Sheila Kussner.
